When my Sister was here, we went out for a fancy dinner at George's in La Jolla. It was so fabulous. Since I haven't been posting recipes, I will just share with you our meal at George's. For an appetizer, Randy ordered their "Fish Tacos" which is their gourmet version. It had fried avacado, with raw sashemi style tuna rolled around cilantro with other herbs and spices with a really yummy spicy aoili. You can see why it isn't really a fish taco... but it was good:
The chef brough my sister and I both a carrot salad on the house. It was so good. I would have never ordered it because it did not sound good, but oh my, I will be hitting him up for the recipe. So light and fresh and wonderful. It was beautiful too!
I ordered the Petrale Sole. It had a ricotto gnocchi that was yummy. It was a different texture of gnocchi than I was used to. Almost like it was fried instead of boiled. The plate was garnished with a really good Chervil sauce and truffle vinagerette. There was some blanched spinache as well with some chanterelles. The dinner was scrumptious.
Here is a picture of the 4 of us getting ready to eat. It was a great place and if you are ever in Southern California, near La Jolla, I would highly recommend it.

Ok so now I am going to have to be catching up on work. My kids left with my sister for their Spring Break and Randy and I are getting ready for a Pet Industry show in Maryland. Our Dog Clothes business is going strong and there is never a dull moment. When company comes it is hard to balance work and play. So now it is all work. We will be eating leftovers and working long hours, so no new recipes this week. sorry =(
