Halloween Fruit Cups

Halloween does not need to be filled of all things candy. We all know the kids will be throwing themselves onto all the candy that is handed out. So I like to make healthier options at home. Using Oranges and carving out a Jack-O-Lantern, makes this a playful after school snack.

Halloween Fruit Cups

What you will need:
A pairing knife
Oranges
Items you want to fill the oranges with: apples, strawberries, grapes, pineapple, orange slices, blueberries, Candy, nuts...the possibilities are endless.

Start off by cutting off the top of your orange.
Next you are going to use your knife to cut out the fruit.
Then using your fingers, gently pull out the fruit.
Slice up the fruit you would like to put inside.
Add your fruit to the "pumpkin orange". The citrus keeps the fruit from browning.
I cut the rind off of one of the apples and pushed it through the top of the orange to make a stem.

You can keep them in the fridge up to 24 hours before you serve them.
See how cute they are!

Clean Eating Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars

Since I began eating clean, I am always so amazed at what I can make that tastes even better... but fuels my body rather than harms it. I have a sweet tooth just like anyone and I have those times that I HAVE to have dessert. So I have found solutions. This is one of my staples.

If chocolate chip cookie dough is your thing, then this is the bar for you. I make a lot of larabars and everyone has their favorite. This one is mine. I love cookie dough, but I never eat it because I don't need the sugar and calories. For me, this tastes just like a great cookie dough and I cannot believe it is healthy! I told my husband I need to buy a crate of organic dates and cashews. I love that I can even eat this for breakfast and not feel guilty!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Larabars

2 cups raw cashews
2 cups medjool dates
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
3 tbsp mini dark chocolate chips

Add your cashews to a food processor and pulse until they resemble bread crumbs. Next add your dates. Make sure the pits have been removed. Add Vanilla and pulse until fully blended.
Add mixture to an 8x8 pan, or similar size, prepared with parchment paper. Press down firmly. Top with mini chocolate chips and press them down.
Place in the freezer for 1 hour and then cut into bars. Store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

Funny Witty Workout Shirts and Tanks

Call it a conversation piece.
Call it the way I talk myself into a workout.
Call it funny.
Call it sassy.

Whatever you call it... It is a trend so getcha some.

I am talking about the awesome shirts over at Wicked Custom Apparel. With funny saying like: "I am unable to quit as I am currently too legit" on my shirts. I get a lot of thumbs up, and "right on!". It is a lot of fun and really it cheers me up to put on an awesome shirt in the morning that cheers me up and others as well.

My daughter even is enjoying sporting hers in Morocco!

I love the fit. Not too tight. Not too loose. Makes it a go to for all working out. Easy to throw on and get sweaty, without having to worry about the fit. Barre, Pilates, Running, Yoga, Boxing, Dance, Cross-fit, every workout... they work for all of it.
They are really affordable and cute. So head on over and get yourself a few. They have cute holiday shirts too. You can get them here
You are welcome.

Affordable Stylish Yoga Capris

I really feel like I have the best job ever. I get to wake up and start each day working on myself with some personal development. Then I push play on my workout to make sure to love on my body that does so much for me. It is a lot easier to push play when you have cute comfortable clothes to wear. Thankfully another perk of my job is the ability and freedom to work with fitness companies. I get to try out and give my honest opinion on how I feel about the product. Over the next few weeks I will be giving you some information on some of my favorite fitness and yoga brands. I am starting today with
VRSGYMFASHION .

These light fabrics and colorful patterns come straight from Brazil !What I love the most about them is that they are made to fit your body lines and accentuate and support. Whether you are headed to the gym or simply going about your everyday business, their selection of yoga leggings can give you a comfy and great looking solution.

Here I am showing their Capris currently on sale for $40!
Nope tank by Wicked Custom Apparel

I personally love leggings that are a high waist, but don't roll down. I LOVE that about these leggings. I can run, squat, lift, dance, yoga... and they stay put.

Lastly the thing you may want to know.. they are some of the most affordable in their line of quality. They are thick, sturdy... yet 1/2 the cost of some similar brands.

Right now they have a sale going on a lot of their Capri's. Check them out here

National Taco Day? Well here are some healthy tips to keep you on track with your health and fitness goals and a Taco Recipe Round-up

Say what?
National taco day???
Enter shocked emoji here.

I am on day 2 of a program. I have plenty of times that I can indulge and have what I want. I go for healthy, not necessarily a ripped body. But, I have been a little too slack lately and it is time to pull in the reigns and stop making excuses. Basically, I am ready to say goodbye to my muffin tops I gained from one too many Moscow Mules on Safari in Africa. It was worth it at the time. I am ALL about work hard, play hard. My friends... it is time to WORK HARD!

Don't get it twisted. I WILL still be partaking in National Taco day. I am an American Citizen for goodness sake! I just have learned to make my taco's "clean". I also have learned to eat 2 not 4.
True story.

Tip #1 I always use organic non-gmo corn tortillas. After cancer, I will always and forever be PRO-NonGMO.

Tip #2: Swap out the sour cream for wholesome organic Greek yogurt. Tastes the same and SO MUCH better for ya.

Tip #3: Bake or steam your shells instead of frying them. You lose a majority of the fat and calories by doing this.

Tip #4: Swap the cheese for Avocado. It gives a rich creamy taste and you hardly know you are missing the cheese. It is a healthy fat swap your body will thank you for.

Tip #5 Add extra protein rich greens like spinach and kale to your taco salad mixture.

Here are some of my favorite Taco recipes you can "healthify" with the above tips.
