Sticky Garlic Chicken

Today I am SO excited! I am all booked for the The 4th Annual Foodbuzz Blogger Festival  in San Francisco! It is an event that brings all of the bloggers that are syndicated by federated media together. It is a perk of our job. I can't wait to meet and spend 2 days with over a hundred like minded people that understand it is ok to take pictures of your food before you take a bite! Check out all the events I get to go to:

Kick off the event with cocktails and city views at Harry Denton's Starlight Room! This local favorite mixes old-school glamour with present day pizzazz for the ultimate San Francisco experience. Mix and mingle with fellow Festival attendees and enjoy great food and drink from a spot 21 stories above the city.

Saturday Morning: Excursion and Scavenger Hunt
See, touch and taste all that San Francisco has to offer with a trip to the famed Ferry Plaza Farmer's Market. The market is the ultimate foodie destination, with vendors offering traditional fruits, veggies and flowers as well as regional artisan specialties such as seasonings and jam. Our excursion and scavenger hunt will not only help you get to know fellow Festival-goers, but also help you win some fantastic prizes!

Saturday Afternoon: Taste Pavilion
The Taste Pavilion is one of the most popular events of the Festival! Each year, we assemble an amazing lineup of food and drink vendors ready to share their goods with you.

Saturday Evening: Gala Dinner
End the Festival in Golden Gate Park at the California Academy of Sciences, known as at the world's greenest museum. Enjoy fabulous food and drink while you explore the museum after hours.
If you are a federated media blogger... I can't wait to see you there!!!
Can you believe I get to do all of this for at no cost to me? I love my job!

Now on to today's recipe:
For me there is nothing better than good old Comfort Food. In this house it is Chicken and Rice. Add Garlic and a good sauce and it is a sure hit. All of us loved this dish, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Gluten-Free Sticky Garlic Chicken

2 lbs Boneless Chicken (white or dark meat whichever you prefer)
1/3 cup brown sugar
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger paste
1/3 cup gluten-free soy sauce-or- braggs amino acids
1 cup water, plus 2 TBSP, divided
1/2 tsp five spice powder
2 TBSP Canola oil

In a wok add canola oil then sauté garlic and ginger for 1 minute.
Add chicken and cook over high heat for 2 minutes stirring constantly.
Pour water, soy sauce or braggs, brown sugar, and five spice powder bring it to a boil then simmer uncovered in medium-high heat until Chicken is cooked through.

Strain Chicken letting the liquid strain off into another saucepan or skillet, and keep warm while returning liquid back to the stove top.
Add 2 tsp corn starch to 2 TBSP water, and whisk to make a paste and add it to the liquid on in the pan. Cook over medium high heat sirring occasionally mixing for 20 minutes or until the liquid had reduced to a thick syrup texture.
Totally reduce liquid into a thick sauce and pour over chicken and stir.
Serve over white rice, top with extra sauce and serve.

    Thank you
( ps I did make a couple small changes ) I sprinkled on some ground ginger to the chicken and I cooked the chicken 3/4 of the way and just added all the sauce ingredients to the same pan as the chicken and slowly let it simmer and thicken! Worked out GREAT!
