Strawberry Dream Ice Cream

Any one else out there being hit with a big heatwave? We sure are here in Southern California. It is mid 80's, and that part isn't bad. But the humidity!!! We are not used to having such bad humidity in San Diego. Thank goodness for the beach and the pool!

Strawberries are still in an abundance here in California. It is so nice because every time I go to the Farmer's market, I pick up several pounds. They are the best for making chilled desserts for this heatwave. My husbands absolute favorite, is an extra creamy ice cream that I make. We call it Strawberry dream. It is actually really really easy to make.
3 cups heavy whipping cream
2 cups fresh strawberries
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups sugar

Take the stems off of your strawberries, and then cut them in half and add them to a blender.
Add heavy cream, vanilla and sugar.
Blend on full speed for 1 minute.
Pour your mixture into your ice cream maker.
Turn it on for about 20 minutes.
Keep in the freezer until you are ready to serve.
