I am in need of a citrus intervention. While I absolutely love the smells my citrus trees bring to my home. My allergies are going crazy. I guess I am going to need to bite the bullet and just start taking allergy medicine on a regular basis. In the meantime... what to do with all these blossoms? Seems a shame to let them go to waste. So I started reading. Turns out specialty stores sell orange blossom water. So I got busy picking my blossoms. I found a great recipe for Orange Blossom Lemonade. Awesome. Killing to birds with one stone. Lemons used, Orange blossoms used. I will spare my lime tree today. Keep in mind my trees are never sprayed, nothing but pure California sunshine and water go into my trees. Here is how I made the water:
Orange Blossom Water:
I picked 65 orange blossoms.
When I read it said to pick them in the morning sun. So that is what I did.
I rinsed them very well to make sure all dirt and insects were off.
Put them in the blender to roughly chop them.

Add Filtered water to a water jar and add the chopped up blossoms.
I set my jar in the sun for 2 weeks.
Strain the blossom water into two smaller jars that hold one cup, and store in the fridge until ready to use.
