Homemade Taco Seasoning

Am I the only one that gets tired reading packaged food that is supposed to make our lives easier? Having a Celiac in the house I pretty much feel like there is not much "easy" available anymore. Taco's for instance used to be a very simple easy thing to throw together when I was in a time crunch. Until the Celiac diagnosis. I am sure there are companies out there that make it easy still. But sometimes I am left to only trust my own cooking. If Taylor has an outbreak, it just is not worth it at all. So I started making a large batch of taco seasoning ahead of time. I keep it in an airtight container and it lasts for months.
I adapted it from 5 dollar dinners
Homemade Taco Seasoning
1/4 cup chili powder
1/4 cup ground cumin
1/4 cup garlic powder
1/4 cup onion powder
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
Mix all the spices together and store in an airtight container. Add one pound of your favorite beef or chicken to 2 TBSP homemade taco seasoning and 1 TBSP canola oil.
Cook until meat is finished. drain and serve.
