Garlic Fried Rice

I think for most gluten-intolerant people, rice is a staple in the house. It sure is in ours! Being naturally gluten-free it is a great side dish that leaves you feeling satisfied. You can add almost anything to it. Since garlic is one of my most favorite ingredients, it is also my favorite thing to add to rice. This rice is very buttery and full of garlic flavor. The crunchy garlic on top sends this dish into a must have!

Gluten-Free Garlic Fried Rice
from My Trials in the Kitchen

3 cups of cooked Basmati Rice
4 tbsp of butter, divided
8 cloves of garlic (chopped finely), divided
4 eggs (beaten)
Salt and ground pepper to taste
chopped green onions for garnish

Melt 3 Tbsp butter in a large pan or wok. Add in 5 cloves of chopped garlic and stir until very fragrant and lightly golden.
While waiting for the butter and garlic to ready, add the beaten egg into on the white rice
and mix it well. Add in the rice which was mixed well with the beaten eggs. Toss, and then add salt and pepper. Toss some more.
In another small saucepan, melt 1 Tbsp butter and the rest of the chopped garlic. Saute until garlic is browned nicely.
Serve the rice garnished with some chopped scallions and browned garlic. I served mine with Blackened Salmon and it was a perfect pairing.

  4. Yay... saw you got into foodgawker. I finally got a few in too after my new camera. I would suggest you submit this beautiful rice too. I think they will love it. :) Did you get a new camera.. editing software? I am still trying desperately to figure out my camera... sometimes my photos are great and sometimes not.

  5. No, I still have the same software, and the same camera I got for christmas last year. It is a great camera, I am just taking time now to style the food more when I have time. I am not a fan of food styling. I love looking at it, but for me, I prefer to spend my time cooking. It is a necessary evil though.
