Crockpot Sweet Glazed Pork

I live in a house full of meat lovers. One of their favorite thing is glazed pork. Sweet glazed pork to be exact. Pork is actually pretty cheap right now in the stores, so I decided to make all of them happy and make them one of their favorite dishes.
This is the perfect slow cooker recipe. I was busy for the day and threw all of this together in the crock pot in the morning, and it was ready just in time for dinner. Taylor informed me that it was her favorite dish ever. She says that a lot though. You can rest easy knowing I got thumbs up from Husband, Kids and their friends.
Gluten Free Sweet Glazed Pork
adapted from C+C Marriage Factory
1 (3-4 pound) boneless pork (any cut)
1 teaspoon italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 cup water
For Glaze:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons gluten free soy sauce -or- braggs amino acids
Combine Italian seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic. Rub over roast.
Place in slow cooker with 1/2 cup water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
About 1 hour before roast is done, combine ingredients for glaze in small sauce pan. Heat and stir until mixture thickens.
Pour over roast and cook for one more hour. You can serve extra sauce on the side if you like.
I served mine over brown rice.

  2. Oh perfect! It's supposed to get really hot and humid here by the end of the week and the carnivores in the house are getting restless. Tossing them a big hunk of meat that I can cook in the crock pot rather than heating up the house is the best solution ever.

Ooooo, and guess who's book I found on Amazon today! :-D
